Promoting Peace through Dialogue: Jerusalem Session

Promoting Peace through Dialogue - Jerusalem_01Global Majority, in partnership with the People’s Peace Fund and the Monterey College of Law, cordially invites you to its third annual Middle East seminar, which includes a study tour of the Israel-Palestine region and a symposium on conflict resolution. Participants will have the opportunity to meet with local Israeli and Palestinian NGOs at this time. This program will take place on the grounds of Tantur Ecumenical Institute* in Jerusalem from August 2nd to August 13th.

Global Majority and its sponsors hope to build the leadership capacity of civil society advocates and emerging leaders in nonviolent conflict resolution, international negotiation and peace-building. This program has been designed to introduce American, Israeli, Palestinian, and other international students to conflict resolution issues in the Middle East.

International Symposium: Kathmandu, Nepal

nepal-photo Jointly organized by the Nepal-based Collective Campaign for Peace (COCAP) and US-based Global Majority, this international symposium from June 2-5, 2009 in Kathmandu, Nepal will contribute to achieving socially and politically sustainable peace and harmony in the South Asian Region. The symposium will focus on exploring and establishing a common vision that exercises substantial discussion on the current issues of peace, justice, and human rights in the South Asia. The symposium’s goal is to strengthen solidarity and cooperation among civil society by forging a South Asian Civil Society Forum.

Promoting Peace through Dialogue: South Africa 2009

The University of Johannesburg, South Africa and Global Majority will host students, professionals and academics from June 15-July 5, 2009 for a three week course exploring transitional justice, human rights, and conflict resolution techniques, focusing on post-apartheid South Africa and current conflict contexts in southern Africa.
